S Company: Korean Culture Training & Practical Leadership Development
Our Client, S – recently partnered with Carrot Global to deliver a customized training program aimed at strengthening both cultural understanding and practical leadership capabilities among outstanding talents from its overseas subsidiaries.
Rather than focusing on one-way knowledge delivery, the program was designed as a case-based workshop. Participants shared real experiences from their respective regions, explored collaboration methods, and deepened their understanding of cultural differences while enhancing their ability to apply solutions in real work environments.
Many participants expressed that they were able to identify meaningful touchpoints between Korean communication culture and global leadership, helping them gain stronger confidence in leadership and real-world problem-solving.

Why This Training Was Introduced?
As one of Korea’s largest automotive parts manufacturers, S Company has long invested in the development of high-potential employees from overseas corporate branches through headquarters training programs. However, the growing need for leaders capable of navigating global markets more effectively highlighted a gap: stronger leadership skills and adaptability to Korean corporate cultural dynamics.
To address this, S Company introduced a new leadership development program in collaboration with Carrot Global starting this year.
The objectives of the program included:
Bridging cultural gaps between Korean expatriates and local staff
Deepening understanding of Korean corporate and organizational practices
Motivating key talents for long-term growth
Strengthening real, applicable leadership capacity
The program was also designed to be practical and relevant for participants from diverse job levels and countries, ensuring immediate application in the workplace.
Key Focus Areas
The training was built around the idea of “leadership that can be put immediately into action.” Instead of theoretical lectures, Carrot Global prepared customized real-world cases based on the operating environments of different regions—including Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
This approach helped participants:
Stay highly engaged
Relate to challenges in familiar work contexts
Discover realistic solutions applicable to their day-to-day roles
As a result, the program achieved two goals simultaneously:
Narrowing cultural gaps
Strengthening job-ready leadership skills
Within a short time, participants were encouraged to explore the “why” behind workplace behaviors and organizational approaches, leading to a deeper understanding of workplace dynamics.

Case-Based Workshop
The program was conducted as an interactive workshop rather than a one-way lecture. Participants with shared challenges from similar regions worked together to analyze real cases and discuss solutions.
Through facilitated case analysis and group collaboration, participants were able to:
Increase understanding of cultural and operational differences
Share experiences and insights across regions
Discover new ways to collaborate and resolve issues
This process allowed participants to move beyond learning new information—they gained real opportunities to practice problem-solving and improve cooperation in a realistic setting.
Memorable Moments & Participant Reactions
One particularly memorable moment occurred when participants realized that the Korean workplace often values “jeong” (warmth and consideration) and harmonious communication over purely performance-driven interactions. For many, this was an eye-opening discovery that helped them better understand the Korean organizational environment.
Client representatives also shared that understanding Korea’s “ppalli-ppalli” (speed-oriented) culture and high-context communication styles helped them identify root causes of conflicts and communication challenges within teams.
Most importantly, the training connected cultural understanding to actual business challenges. Participants not only widened their perspective but also strengthened leadership skills and problem-solving abilities grounded in real cases and situations.
Growing Global Leaders Through Real-World Experience
Developing competitive talent in a global environment requires learning directly from real challenges and real experiences. By sharing concerns, taking action together, and learning collaboratively, participants move one step closer to becoming true global leaders.
Carrot Global is committed to designing practical and actionable workshops that unlock potential and support meaningful growth.
Take the first step toward developing tomorrow’s global leaders—together with Carrot Global. 🌍💼
